Gt Eccleston Event Report 16/07/11

The second event of the 2011 British Tractor pulling season was held at Great Eccleston show.

3 Super Farms from Scotland made the journey to Lancashire to try and pick up some points to help towards the championship. 6 Tractors were entered into the class and 5 of the 6 made a full pull. Dieselross sadly blew a turbocharger pipe which ended the run early. Smokey 2 made a full pull, but was misfiring and did not return for the pull off. 2008's champion, Rob Roy had a good pull off run to take 3rd, just beaten to 2nd by Cumbria's International powered Solway Spirit. The winner by a considerable amount was Ali's Knightmare, a Massey Ferguson machine again from Cumbria, which must leave the other competitors in the class wondering what they can do to catch up! Sadly the other classes were scheduled to run on the Sunday, but for the first time in 32 years, the great British summer meant this was not to be, and no tractors pulled.
